Defending Jacob - William Landay All I will say without spoiling it..
Wow.
Be careful who you associate with ... For more than just the obvious reasons....
Is it in the genes? Or stress? Exposure?
Or, do all of us have the ability to do it?
Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead - Sheryl Sandberg Not new information for me but a reminder about the need to remember to Lean In. Let's all Lean In, men and women. We can make it better.
My Beloved World - Sonia Sotomayor This is a positive contribution in many ways. A poor, child, female, diabetic daughter of immigrants is a Supreme Court judge. Great book that may inspire many. The writing style did not keep my attention at times, but I still think it's a great book.
Does This Church Make Me Look Fat?: A Mennonite Finds Faith, Meets Mr. Right, and Solves Her Lady Problems - Rhoda Janzen

Awesome book, well written the cover picture and title do not give it justice, in my opinion.
The Buddha in The Attic - Julie Otsuka

Short book with big message.
Free Will - Sam Harris

A " taste" of a great subject. It has been said before, it also depends on your view of " free will" and how " free" we really are. I don't believe there is "absolute" free will but "free will" while also understanding that we are a product of our upbringing, genes, and history. Taking all that into consideration, we have " free will".
How to Be a Woman - Caitlin Moran

On being a woman as written by a 30 something Brit. I heard her message but wonder if others would or could get beyond her humor. It warms my heart that she encourages and talks about how being a feminist is not hating men but loving ourselves and of feminist men that respect women. I like her, her and her Doc Martens and I with my Crocs.
The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity - Wm. Paul Young, Brad Cummings, Wayne Jacobsen Great book - you need to be open to reading this.
Bike Tribes: A Field Guide to North American Cyclists - Mike Magnuson It is a really cute, funny and informative book about cycling in America. It was funny to see how my cycling friends and I fit in each group (tribe).
Quite enjoyable when you can't go cycling because of the weather.
The Opposite of Love - Julie Buxbaum enjoyable read.Smart chicklit.
